Dog Clipper Guide Comb Compatibility
Guide combs are not universal. Match the clipper model and blade mount first, then choose a comb family made for that exact base blade.
A5 blade guide combs
Use combs made to attach over a compatible A5 detachable blade. Many sets specify a #30 detachable blade as the base.
Wahl 5-in-1 guide combs
Use a comb set made for the Wahl 5-in-1 blade family. Set the blade to the manufacturer-specified position before attaching a comb.
Do not mix the mounts
An A5 comb set does not automatically fit a Wahl 5-in-1 blade, and a Wahl 5-in-1 comb set does not fit a full-size A5 detachable blade.
Start with the exact clipper model
Brand alone is not enough because one manufacturer may sell several blade systems. Use the finder to confirm the blade mount, compatible comb family, evidence level, and manufacturer source before buying.
